1. Sort your laundry into Whites, Darks, and Delicates

   - This will help you prevent clothes from bleeding onto other garments and ruining them. Check the care instructions on each garment; this will help decide what pile each item belongs in.

2. Choose the proper water temperature and cycle for each load of laundry

   – Typically, whites and linens use hot water, colors get washed in warm water, dark clothes and delicate use cold water. Again, check the care instructions on each garment for help.

3. Add detergent to the washing machine

   - There are generally three types of detergent: powder, liquid, and pods. Each type has its advantages and disadvantages, so choose the best suits your needs. Powder detergent can be difficult to dissolve in cold water, and liquid detergent is easy to use and dissolve. Pods are the most convenient because they pre-measure the amount of detergent you need. 4. Remove clothes from the washer and put them in the dryer

5. Fold clothes when dry

   - Once your laundry is sorted, washed, and dried, it is time to fold and put away.
